Yesterday, at the Ten Ton Coffee shop in Waitsburg, I had an interview with Lane Gwinn, the Pubisher of The Waitsburg Times newspaper.

We spoke of many things electric and otherwise.

After two days of rest — only 21 miles riding into town for great-tasting breakfast burritos at the coffee shop — it’s nice to be racking up some mileage again.

Hopefully this coming week will be productive and I may soon be knocking on the doors of Yellowstone National Park.

As of today several entrances into Yellowstone are closed to vehicles but open to bikes. If this is the case when I get there, it will be a blessing indeed.

My current idea is to skirt through the north roads of the park and then exit at the east entrance to Cody, Wyoming.

Not sure if that will work, but God knows. I’ll find out.

From Cody, I hope to make my way over to Casper and then south down to Cheyenne and eventually back to Windsor, Colorado from where I began.

Should this plan prove a reality, it would mean that the last portion would follow many of the same routes that I rode my bicycle on in 1991, 2011, and 2014.

The Backroads of Eastern Washington State

It somehow seems fitting that Segment 2 of this Journey should conclude with such an extensive overlapping of my previous cycling Journeys.

All I have from those previous adventures are pictures and memories.

Perhaps I’ll be able to add a few written addendums to those previous years this time around.

Get ready Montana and Camp Three Forks KOA As in 1991 and 2014, I’m heading your direction again!

But for tonight I’m enjoying a cool and quiet sunset while camped alongside the Snake River at Chief Timothy Park.

I hope you all have a very enjoyable Labor Day weekend!
