Got a relaxing start today because I knew it was only about 3 hours to Alder Bay and check in time was 1:00 PM.
I took my time and stopped in at Port McNeil to see “The World’s Largest Burl.”
It is big! And seeing it was a first for me.

There’s a place in Oregon not too far from Klamath Falls that has quite an assortment of burls and various other eclectic items.
I’m not sure I’ll be heading that direction after I get off Vancouver Island, but perhaps.
Today was also the First day that I used the app, “Organic Maps” to plan and navigate my route.
Organic Maps is the “original” MapsMe app and it has NO ADS and NO PROBLEMS like the recently updated version of MapsMe has.
For those of you who, like me, are very disillusioned with the thoughtless “updates” of previously functional apps that have now rendered those apps useless, check out Organic Maps. It’s a keeper!
I’ve uninstalled MapsMe and will soon be jettisoning a number of other under-performing apps on my phone.
I may also be doing the same with a number of items that are currently included in my gear.
Time will tell…
