First, the great news: John has 53 acres of wonderfully green and wooded space at his RV park and, hands-down, the BEST shower facilities of any place that I’ve stayed at so far on this trip!
Thank you, John!
He also has an electric car and he installed a fast-charger for his guests (and himself) due in part to the tax credits for doing so.
But get this all you other city government people who installed electric CAR ONLY charging stations, John ALSO has a standard, type A, 110v outlet near his fast charging station. (See the featured photo for this post.)
Contrast John’s foresight with the absolute absurdity of this photo taken in front of the 100 Mile House Visitor Information Center (closed for COVID issues) which shows electric CAR charging stations AND a bicycle MAINTENANCE/REPAIR station but NO E-BIKE STANDARD CHARGING OUTLET IN SIGHT.

If I could have easily charged in 100 Mile House I could have added another 30-40 miles to today’s distance, but, alas, it was not to be because of another group of well meaning, but misinformed government officials.
That said, it was nice meeting John at his RV park and seeing that he is involved in promoting electric transportation AND charging.
Perhaps he’ll be on of the First eOverlander eRV Parks once we get that community going.
Also, I guess it’s also a good thing that I couldn’t charge at 100-Mile House because if I had flown past John’s place on a full battery, who would have fed the gazillions of mosquitoes that came out after the rain and who wanted to share my fruit cocktail and cold can of corn?
Ah! The sacrifices one must make while scooting around the world (in the rain, no less)…
